The Engagement
Jen's senior year of track Dan proposed the night before a track meet at UofM. It was a rememorable night for the both of us. Dan had it all planned out from having a nice romantic dinner to music and dancing. Unfortunately luck was not on his side that night. Dan blind folded me to hide the destination. As we got the the place he did some finishing touches and things were not going as planned. I heard something breaking and him trying to light a match, Dan getting upset until finally he had enough and took the blind fold off. He had taken me to a spot we went to on dates, a nice gazebo on a lake. He had a table set up with dinner but the candles wouldn't light becasue it was so windy and cold out. He finally turned some music on and we danced to Barry Whites's, "The Thrill is Gone" (how appropriate). Even still Dan got up the nerve to recite a beautiful poem he had writen me and at the end asked me to marry him.
It was definately a night to remember and a great story to tell.
